Cedar Timber Veneer

Cedar Timber Veneer – Cedar (Thuja Plicata) comes from a softwood species native to the west coast of North America, where it grows in cool, moist forests. It is a tall, straight‑trunked tree that grows to a height of 25-50m with a trunk diameter of up to 4m.
The heartwood is clearly darker than the pale, almost white sapwood and will mellow and deepen in tone over time. Colour typically ranges from light straw and honey browns through to warmer reddish‑brown bands.
Grain is usually straight and even, with a fine, uniform texture and a low to moderate natural lustre that responds very well to clear, low‑build finishes.
Western Red Cedar veneer is light in weight and naturally durable, which makes it especially suitable for joinery and cabinetry where a warm yet understated appearance is preferred. Its stability and ease of working also make it a practical choice for detailed veneering and decorative work.
